Fall into Fall with Flair and Zva Creative Wrap Up!

by Janelle on September 23, 2012

Today wraps up our Fall into Fall with Flair and Zva Creative week. We’ve had such a great time bringing you our inpsired pieces using  Zva Creative bling to make them shine.

It’s fall and time to start thinking more and more about gifts. For me right now, it includes a set of photos of my kids for the family. I have a gift that was inspired by some vintage photo’s still inside folio’s that I found at my father’s house last fall. You know when you used to get the photo handed to you already printed from the photographer and the main photo was slipped into a sturdy card frame?  Do they do that anymore? Well, that’s the portrait folio I’m talking about here.  I did a search on the internet to look for them and I’m not sure they exist anymore. Let me know if you’ve seen them some where, and since I couldn’t find any for my project, here’s a homemade version with some 12 x 18 Strathmore paper I had in my stash along with some other supplies.

The gray Strathmore piece was cut to 8 x 14 inches and scored at 2 and 8 inches. I created a slide closure by cutting a C opening on the 2 inch flap and then a  line along the edge of the last 6 inch panel on the opposite end. To hinder the cut ends from tearing I used an eyelet hole punch and a little bit of elbow grease to make the hole (everyone in my house is usually asleep so hitting it with a hammer just wasn’t an option). Here it is up close.

The frame to slide in your photo is created by cutting out a window from a piece of cardstock sized 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 then strips of cardstock were added to three sides so that the picture would have enough space when slipped into the fourth side. This frame can be rotated for a Portrait photo, just make sure you think through where you add your bling so when you rotate it that the photo doesn’t slide out.

The Zva Creative flourish is so amazing and this photo just doesn’t show them off as well as they look in real life. I laid them down onto the frame while they were still on it’s contact sheet so I could find the right spot for them and at that point I decided this frame just doesn’t need anything else!

A gift needs some bling on the outside so I created another frame but this time with Stampendous Vintage Frames stamp and Embossing Enamels. Then those wonderful Zva Creative flourishes found a home around the sentiment from Stampendous Cherub Wishes.

Now it’s your turn to get creative with Zva Creative products. Fill up the Planet gallery with them!

I think nowadays you just get your pictures in a folder or envelope!
The adorable picture and beautiful bling (purple is my favorite color) are definitely all your creative frame needed.

These are such simple projects and the Zva brings such elegance and a finished look to each of them. Awesome, I have loved and used Zva for a couple of years now and always have lots in my stash, but I do see a need to branch out into their newer colors :)
