Scrappy Sunday: Stampbooking, Project Life and Lightroom

by Susanna on February 27, 2012

I’ve been inspired this week by Ali Edwards and Nichol Magouirk, I had to break out the stamps and the paint.

This layout is a scraplift of an Ali Edward’s page I saw at CHA 2012. Turns out that I had the same stamps thanks the the new line at i{heart}papers! I created the white circles on the green background by dipping an empty toilet paper roll in paint and then stamping. It was a good upcycle of an old patterned paper.

I cut “water balloons” using my Silhouette and white paper and then spritzed with Fireworks spray to get a shimmery blue color. (BTW, I learned the cut from white paper and paint trick from Nichol Maguoirk’s 2011 True Scrap class!)

Stamps are from Ali Edwards.

Another Ali Edward’s stamp. Combined this with the Smash date stamp and a Spellbinders Nestability tag die.

Now, for those of you following along with Project Life, here are the pages for the last two weeks.  Thankfully, the Design A page sleeves are finally back in stock.  Whoops — SOLD OUT as of this post! Rush and get the variety pack of Photo Pocket Pages – Big Variety Pack 1 (60 Pages)– they will probably sell out too!

I love doing Project Life digitally, but part of the charm is the ability to stick little bits and pieces of ephemera in the pockets.

Project Life Week 7

For “hello life,” I used an Ali Edwards digital png file transformed into cut file. She has a video on how on her blog.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette online store to cut a chevron 3×4 card. I took both pieces and laid each like a mask on another 3×4 card and then sprayed them with the Shimmer Sprays. You could hear the squeal of the delight at the neighbor’s house. The chevron turned out so well that I felt like I had just hit a buy one, get one free sale. The word art bled a little on the bottom piece, but I think if I used repositionable adhesive, it would work in the future.

Project Life Week 8. I was busy and most of the elements were digital to save time.  See my video on how to do this entirely in Lightroom!  You can download the Lightroom print template HERE, if you don’t want to make your own.

Lightroom bonus tip: use the Identity Plate to put a small title on your individual pictures. It won’t work for journaling more than a line but if that’s all you need, it’s ideal.

Fun tip: take pictures of Lego people. It’s fun and you’ll be surprised at how handy they are.
