Scrappy Sunday: Project Twelve

by Susanna on January 15, 2012

One of the things I’ve discovered in my life as a scrapbooker is that the stories we save are as important that the photos. Unfortunately, the struggle is finding the time to scrapbook before you’ve forgotten the details and feelings that go with the memories.  When looking through old photos, it’s not the birthdays or baseball games that make you laugh — it’s the old furniture, outfits and haircuts. It’s pieces of everyday life that spark us.

This year, I’m doing Becky Higgins’ Project Life. In short, I’m doing a week by week approach to memory keeping.  I’m also doing the BPC class, Twelve.  As if that’s not enough, I’m trying to participate in the monthly meme going around, where you take 12 photos on the 12th of every month for the year.  Perhaps at the end of the year, I’ll end up with a full scrapbook of memories!  We can always hope….With all of these changes in mind, I’m off to a new start for the Scrappy Sunday group.  Feel free to play along if you’d like!  Free Photoshop templates are included whenever possible.

Here’s my 12 layout.  I’m thinking that I’ll bind all of these into a calendar at the end of the year.  I think the family will enjoy these — I also think they may be a fun mini book down the road.

Here’s a quick pic of the psd template.  You can download it in our Scrappy Sunday group HERE.  (You’ll have to be a member of the Planet.)

This is my start page for the 2012 album.  It’s about resolutions and I love it.  I get a buzz from playing with ink and tape and stickers.  This was an embossed paper that I used the Ranger Distress Ink to color the edges.  The center of the layout is white to give a frosted look to the center of the layout.

I got a little carried away with the template.  I tried to design paper that matched my original because I liked it so much!  You’ll have to email me for this one — it’s so large I can’t get it uploaded anywhere!  It’s apparently HUGE.  I’ll TRY to email it to you if you’d like.  Susanna.Boyd (at) papercraftplanet.net

This is my “everyday life” page. I surveyed everyone in the family for their five favorite places to eat lunch. Lunch is a ritual for our family and I thought it’d be fun to look back on this page down the road.
