Scrappy Sunday August: Week 1

by Susanna on August 7, 2011

When we polled everyone about what you want in a group, the popular answer was more templates and sketches. Kim and I will try to move in that direction.

Lately, I’ve been trying to scrap more of the “everyday” things in my life. I love scrapping birthdays and baseball, but after doing it for years, I was getting bored. When I watched Shimelle Laine’s video on the Everyday Adventure (I found this on Ali Edwards’ blog), I was really motivated to break out of my bubble and start scrapping more than just my “to do” list.

Four days a week, I walk my lab puppy, Bo, around the neighborhood.  Excersize is NOT my thing.  In fact, I HATE it, so I motivate myself by walking for ice coffee.  I feel good that I earn it with a walk.  Dunkin’ Donuts has been welcoming Bo and me since he was about 3 months old, and they give him free munchkins when we get there.  It’s become a lovely part of our day and I want to remember it.  Over the months, our route has grown to include the Race Trac chicken roll up (free if you check in with FourSquare) and my sons and their friends.

I added a Google Map of our route and traced the path with a brush in Photoshop.  I love that technology has added easy ways like this for us to jazz up our memory keeping.  If you learn nothing else from me, learn screen captures as embellishment!

Click HERE for our Scrappy Sunday group.  You can download a FREE Photoshop template for this layout.  Will you scrap the everyday, or will you scrap an event that you want to remember? Either way, you can accommodate 13 pictures in this layout. Feel free to make some of the blocks journaling or patterned paper if you’d prefer.
