Riddersholm Designs – Star Fold Card

by Lynn Mercurio on July 30, 2011

Hi! I’m thrilled to bring you this week’s project using papers and embellishments from Riddersholm Designs, a wonderful Danish paper company.  Riddersholm specializes in a charming vintage styled patterned papers, diecut tags, ribbons, and charms. The product itself is designed by Connie, produced in Denmark and marked with the Scandinavian environmental seal ‘Svanemaerket’ meaning it is produced to protect our environment.  A company with an environmental conscience; how refreshing.

Connie provided me with a collection called  Apples & Flax - wonderfully full bodied and luscious fall colors or browns, orange, peach and tan.  I really had a hard time deciding which papers I wanted to focus on…they are all delicious.

My project is a Star Fold card.  This great video tutorial guided me through the cuts and scores and I knew right away that these Riddersholm Design papers would make a wonderful Star Fold card.

After measuring, cutting and scoring my base paper, I added triangles from a complimentary paper on which I stamped flourishes from the Flourishes Scallops & Dots set by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I added dots of Cinnamon Stickles to accent the flourishes and let those dry thoroughly before proceeding.

Upon opening the Star Card you can see the beautiful papers and the lovely embellishments that Connie also included in the package of goodies.  The wonderful brown lace made a great accent trim, and those beautiful flowers are the perfect accent.

A closer look reveals the lovely sparkles that accompany these lovely brown blossoms.

With the star shape of the card, I thought it appropriate that the sentiment should be on a star as well, so I stamped this sentiment from the Encouragement stamp set from Layers of Colors.  I wanted to include this amazing crystal cross so I threaded another piece of ribbon through the top and adhered it to the inside of the card with the ribbon extending through the top so this star card could be hung.

I hope you enjoyed my Star Fold card.  Thanks for looking in today and I hope you have found these papers and embellishments inspirational.  Be sure to check back each Saturday for a new project featuring Riddersholm Designs.  Be sure to visit Riddersholm Designs website to view all of their wonderful products.

For your chance to win this same line of papers and embellishments that I used on my project today, just leave your comment here on this post.  One lucky commenter will receive the awesome Apples & Flax line from Riddersholm Designs.

Here I am again. And I’ve done 4 of these cards and my husband has done 1.And we can not make the card work.I’ve checked and rechecked my measurements and if I do it exactly like the directions 2 sides are 30.5cm and the third comes out a little over 29cms. I love this card what am I doing wrong?
