Riddersholm Designs Altered Cigar Box *Prize

by Keely Yowler on June 18, 2011

Hello, papercrafters!  Keely here for today’s showcase of Riddersholm Designs, a wonderful Danish paper company. I am so in love with the wonderful vintage look of these patterned papers, diecut tags, ribbons, and charms. “The product itself is designed by Connie, produced in Denmark and marked with the Scandinavian environmental seal ‘Svanemaerket’ meaning it is produced to protect our environment.

I wanted to create a project to showcase all of the wonderful goodies in the beautiful “Bello Pastello” collection.  I created this altered cigar box, covered in beautiful patterned papers, vintage diecuts, and 3d flowers.  It reminds me of being a little girl playing in my mother’s jewelry box.

Did you notice the beautiful cameo charm?  This Riddersholm Designs charm was the perfect touch for my project.

I created these lollipop flowers by cutting 6 circles (2–2″, 2–2 1/2″, 2–3″).  Ink around the edges of each circle with brown craft ink.  Gently, crinkle each circle in your hand and ink over the top of the circle to accentuate the creases.  Layer the circles with the larger circles on the bottom, building to the smallest circles on top.  Insert a brad through the center and adhere to your project.  So simple, but I love the dimension and delicate look of these flowers.

I altered the interior of the box with these lovely patterend papers.  This collection includes paper with delicate flowers, dragonflies, and music notes.  The collection of blue, cream, and brown lace and ribbons complement this collection so wonderfully.

I lined these lovely vintage tags across the interior of the lid.  What a wonderful focal point for any project.  These tags would be perfect for any card, layout, or altered art.

Thank so much for joining me today.  Come back each Saturday for a new project featuring Riddersholm Designs.  Be sure to visit Riddersholm Designs website to view all of their wonderful products.

Do leave a comment on this post for your chance to win the line of papers produced by Riddersholm Designs that I have used here for my project! Good luck!!!  One lucky commenter will receive the Bello Pastello collection – it contains 8 double sided 200 gr. papers, some Riddersholm Design cut-out tags, some lovely Spanish quality lace, and delicious matching ribbon and some sweet cameo jewelry pendant’s great for cards and decoration.

Absolutely gorgeous. Kinda reminds me of being at school and decorating cigar boxes with shells and sand, but a MILLION times better. Love all the elements individually, but as a whole WOW!!!!!!!!!
