Holiday Treats: Stamped Oreos

by Susanna on November 1, 2010

I’m so thrilled to announce that Stampendous will be sponsoring us for the entire month of November with a series of fun  stamping ideas!  Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the entire month, stay tuned for tips and tricks that will help you get a handle on the holidays!

Today’s project looks complicated but it’s SO easy!  You can use your stamps to create white chocolate stamped Oreos!  I made these cookies using the Christmas Bunnies stamp.  I stamped my image a 9 times on Copic paper and then colored it with Copic markers. I transferred the designs on to Oreos that I dipped in melted white chocolate.  (Full directions on how to make the stamped cookies are HERE.)  The best  part of this project is that one sheet of colored images can make unlimited frosting sheets!  When you’re done, use those same images to make cards.

Because I wanted the cookies to be a small gift, I wrapped them in this small box, embellished with a coordinating tag and card.
In almost no time at all, I whipped up a holiday gift that looks impressive but comes together quickly. Add a coffee gift card and you have an ideal teacher gift and everyone will swear you are Martha Stewart!

We will be bringing you these awesome holiday ideas all month long to help you get ready for the holidays.   You can access all this inspiration in our Back to Basics Stampendous Group forever.

Are you saying people can EAT the ink? Did you stamp with the regular markers and the cookies are edible? Is this safe (notice I didn’t use the word healthy because, after all these are cookies). But is it safe?

Katie, you have to read the post — this was scanned onto frosting paper at a bakery — they use special printers with food coloring inks. The paper is actually made of sugar. It’s amazing stuff! Yes — you can eat it and it looks fantastic. If you dip the cookies in candy coating or almond bark, you’ll get a much smoother and whiter look than I did and then they really look amazing. I just think the white chocolate tastes better.
